The Project Control function has the overall responsibility to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting during all phases of the project life cycle, eliminate any gaps between invoicing, project accounting, budgets, cost reporting during execution, and equip project management with accurate, reliable, and forward-looking cost information as a basis for decision-making.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensures all project costs: actual, committed, and forecasted; are properly documented and reported
• Delivers integrated project progress reports, including Earned Value, advises on cost tracking, trends, and deviations
• Analyzes contractors cost and schedule reports and forecasts, verifying their claimed progress, and reporting and initiating corrective action on any inconsistencies, errors, or omissions
• Reviews contractor invoices for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with the contract; initiates corrective action for erroneous charges; obtains approvals and processes invoices for payment
• Maintains the project Change Log
• Reviews all contractor change orders for compliance with the project scope and execution plan
• Track and timely close activities (i.e., purchase orders, work orders, networks, activities, etc.) for individual work scopes
• Track and forecast all time and materials including contractors, subcontractors and service engineers
• Assigns WBS cost elements to all company generated requisitions and work orders
• Collect all committed, expended and forecasted costs associated with project to formulate budget revisions as required and to report financial results throughout the course of the project
• Cost Accounting Interface for project with Finance
• Prepares monthly accruals and submit to Accounting after approval of the Project Manager
• Maintains project Asset Register

Requirements:

• 7+ years of project cost control experience, with downstream project experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or related subject is preferred. In lieu of degree, will consider 7 years of project control experience in the Chemical or Refining industry
• Ability to work with others in a team environment
• Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of Project Finance
• Proficient in SAP Financial Accounting Modules, SAP Project System Modules and MS Office (particularly Excel)
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to serve a broad range of company business leaders, project teams, and our contractors
